Bert Ligon's collection of transcriptions

Bert is a professor of Jazz studies at the University of South Carolina and has some very nice material on the USC site. There are some great solo analyses here as well, like the Sco solo he examines in great detail. It seems to me that USC has a strong Jazz program.

Bert's transcription collection is excellent. There are also a number of exercises available at the same site. Finally, I can highly recommend Bert's books. His "outline" concept is very useful with my students, getting them to play harmonically clear lines.

I have to second the recommendation on outlines. Bert was one of my professors at USC and the outline method really clued me in on how to outline changes in a clear, swinging way.
