General music contract

Here's a general contract for a musical performance that I sometimes use.

I like item number 12, about the performer having complete control during the performance. I need to add something like that to my contracts. I recently had a sucky gig where the restaurant owner would literally come over to me after a given song and ask me to play up-tempo, or hurry up and play if I was pointing something out to the guitarist after several seamless segues.

Alexa is right. That's not on my contract either. Thanks David.

And what does the restaraunt owner understand about those pesky guitarists? Congratulations, by the way, Alexa, on the reasonable review in Downbeat. I thought the reviewer was a little silly, but ultimately, they were floating your boat.

Thank you, Monksdream! I was happy with the review -- my feeling is even if it's mixed, it shows I was taking risks and not trying to be just a pleasant latin jazz singer. Though that's another item I should add to the contract: Performer reserves the right to artistic expression and will not restrict repertoire to 1960s bossa novas.
